Goldilocks Haus
Goldilocks Haus is a modest yet character-rich extension that introduces a new garden room, strengthening the relationship between the original home and its leafy backyard.
Extending from the line of the existing dining nook, the addition rises into a lofted volume that draws in light and air, forming a generous threshold between the original brick house and the garden beyond. Clad in a contemporary standing-seam profile, the new form complements the brick and tiled fabric of the existing home – designed by G. Eric Parups in 1979 – while quietly asserting its own identity.
Large openings draw the landscape deep into the interior, supporting everyday family rituals with a constant connection to the garden. The elongated footprint reaches toward the pool and pizza oven, allowing the space to spill naturally into an outdoor entertaining area.
A reworked kitchen (designed by interior designer & client Hayley) is now open to the garden, improving connection, circulation and brightness, ensuring the new extension feels calm, integrated in its simplicity.
